John Fields brings 20 years of experience in various leadership roles in the aviation industry, across airline, leasing, and banking sectors. Prior to joining IAT, John was the Chief Technical Officer at SCALE Aviation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Credit Suisse. As Chief Technical officer  he was responsible for the development and oversight of the Technical group, supporting Credit Suisse Transportation finance and division overseeing their aviation loan book.

From 2017 to 2020, John was Vice President Fleet Management at AWAS and later DAE Capital, managing the technical aspects of the companies’ aircraft portfolio.  John joined the Irish Flag Carrier, Aer Lingus in 2008 where he spent 10 years in the Maintenance and Engineering department holding various leadership positions such as  CAMO manager, Line Maintenance manager and Engineering manager.

John began his career in SR Technic’s, Dublin in 2004 as an Engineering Specialist providing engineering support to aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance.

John holds a Bachelor of Engineering (HONS) from Dublin City University and a BA in Technology Management (HONS) from Technological University Dublin. He also holds an MBA from the University of Limerick. He also volunteers his time and expertise to the Irish Historic Flight Foundation in support of the operation of classic and vintage aircraft.
